D. has over 20 years' experience in private-sector research in Greater China. D. is an expert in intellectual property (IP) protection intelligence, and was a key "second generation" member of the premier IP security boutique that pioneered IP inquiries and enforcement in Hong Kong in the late 1970s and in China in the late 1980s to early 1990s.

D. speaks fluent English and Putonghua in addition to his native Cantonese.
