Claudette was born in Colombia, where she attended Law School at Universidad Externado de Colombia. She continued her studies in Paris, France, obtaining Post-Graduate and other degrees in Civil Law and Industrial Property at the prestigious Pantheon-Assas Paris II University.

Claudette's tenure includes positions in the private sector dealing with brand and industrial property registration and protection. During her Post-Graduate studies in Paris she worked in the International Brands Department of the French agricultural group SODIAAL dealing with brand registration and enforcement; and at the Paris Court of Appeals assisting with litigation in the enforcement of brand infringement cases. In 1998-99 Claudette was external advisor to the Legal Department of the Presidency of Colombia.

Since 1998 Claudette is attorney and partner at Estrategia Juridica Nacional e Internacional, a law firm that focuses in corporate strategy and intellectual property, creating brand protection programs in Latin America and advising in matters of industrial regulation. Claudette has been faculty at Universidad Externado de Colombia, teaching in matters of industrial and intellectual property, as well as the impact of new technologies in these fields.

Claudette is fluent in English, Spanish, French and Italian, has been published in academic and commercial journals in matters of intellectual property, and has been keynote speaker at intellectual property venues in Colombia, France and the United States to include the International Anticounterfeiting Coalition (IACC).
