Operations Research Assistant

PICA, a 35 year old global risk management and security consulting corporation is seeking a research assistant for our Columbus, Ohio office. Founded in 1982, PICA is one of the oldest and most established global security consulting and investigation firms in the world. It specializes in brand and trade secret protection and information and cyber security, supply chain and distribution channel management, loss prevention and geo-political risk analysis and mitigation, business intelligence and security and market consulting for governments and multi-national corporations across industries, focusing on emerging markets and conflict zones. Job Details:

  • Gather, store, and analyze information and intelligence related to global security, and prepare reports for dissemination to clients
  • Develop leads for field agents and analysts based on intelligence and existing case information
  • Develop/Implement new methods and/or tools to fully exploit open source intelligence
  • Research global security related trends and provide reports to company management
  • Responsible for managing smaller-scale projects and/or executing specific tasks that have been designated to him/her by a project manager(s) or project executive

Requirements:

  • Ability to communicate information using standard Microsoft applications including Excel, Word, Office and PowerPoint.
  • Strong organizational skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail and proactive planning.
  • Professional demeanor, with the ability to work independently with limited daily supervision.
  • Intuitive; able to see needs before they arise.
  • Strong interpersonal skills used to develop strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Highly-effective written and verbal communication skills.

  • Bachelor's degree desired.

Salary:

$35,000—$45,000/year

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Manage and be responsible for supporting the COO and regional directors with time-sensitive development of products and services
  2. Directly report to the COO
  3. Research and provide written reports on current trends in the company's lines of business
  4. Research and provide written reports on requested companies as part of sales development
  5. Gather, store, and analyze information and intelligence related to global security, and prepare reports for dissemination to clients
  6. Develop leads for field agents and analysts based on intelligence and existing case information
  7. Establish criteria and develop leads for Requests For Proposals from private and government organizations
  8. Ensure PICA is registered to conduct business in specified locations around the United States
  9. Develop and maintain a vendor relationship management system in coordination with the regional directors
  10. Coordinate client relationship management in coordination with regional directors
  11. Responsible for managing smaller-scale projects and/or executing specific tasks that have been designated by the COO or regional directors
  12. Comply with all company policies and procedures in global operations to include the daily filing, compilation and aggregation of time sheets and reports
  13. Report to the COO of the company and immediately advise of all issues which might affect the integrity or well-being of the company or its clients.
  14. Such other duties as may be assigned by the COO, from time to time.
